The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses are gearing up for a prosperous and exciting 2014 … but first at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner and Awards Program held on January 28 at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North, the chamber announced Caroline Worley, owner of Worley Law LLC, as the 2013 Business Person of the Year, and Erin Stitzel, Sr. Development Officer at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s, as the first recipient of the Chamber’s 2013 Young Professional of the Year.
Caroline was recognized for her outstanding community involvement, her commitment to the thriving Westerville area economy as well as her personal business accomplishments. Caroline serves as the Columbus President of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Vice President of the Chamber Women in Business Committee, Co-Founder of the Women’s Small Business Accelerator (WSBA), among others.
The Westerville Area has a thriving young professionals’ scene and Erin stood out during 2013. She is a Founding Member of the Westerville Area Health Initiative, a Member of the Dress for Success YES (Young Executives for Success), Past Committee Chair for the Westerville Young Professionals Network, as well as many more.
This year’s Award Selection Committee had a strong list of nominees for the two awards. Because of this, the Chamber will recognizing finalists for each award. The Business Person of the Year Award Finalist is Karyn White, Copeland Mill Dental and the finalists for the Young Professional of the Year Award are Sara Canterbury, Skylight Financial Group; Ryan Cook, All R Friends; and Vincent Neal, KEMBA Financial Credit Union.
Presenting sponsors were Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield; Chairman’s Awards, OhioHealth; Business Person of the Year Award, Mount Carmel St. Ann’s, and Young Professional of the Year Award, Roush Honda.
An upcoming Chamber event will be Business After Hours, Thursday, February 20 from 5:30 to7:30 p.m. at Lynn Monstwil, DDS, 450 Alkyre Run Drive, Suite 26.
