Big Walnut’s Brooke Hatfield, a multiple-varsity letter winner in softball and volleyball for the Golden Eagles, will attend Thomas More College. Hatfield signed to play softball with the Saints on Brooke Hatfield Day held Thursday, April 3, at Big Walnut High School.
Hatfield, who will earn her third varsity letter in softball at the conclusion of the 2014 season, was a First Team All-Ohio Capital Conference Capital Division and a Season Team Division II All-Central District selection her junior year when she was voted Big Walnut’s Most Improved Player. She will also earn her Senior Plaque this season. The Golden Eagles compiled a 37-21 (.638) record during her sophomore and junior campaigns.
During the offseason, Hatfield played with the Heart of Ohio and Ohio Dragon softball teams.
Hatfield earned two varsity letters in volleyball, helping lead the Golden Eagles to a 31-16 (.660) record her junior and senior years. Hatfield’s junior season saw Big Walnut take the OCC Capital Division crown. She was voted the Eagle Leadership Award her senior season.
In the summer, she competed with the MatchPoint Volleyball club.
Outside the classroom and athletics, Hatfield is a member of the the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the Sunbury Christian Church and a Vacation Bible School volunteer. In 2013 she served as an Upward Bound basketball referee and was active in the 2011 Sunbury Mayor Election Campaign.
Thomas More , located in Crestview, Kentucky, is a member of the NCAA Division III Presidents Athletic Conference which includes Bethany, Chatham, Geneva, Grove City, Saint Vincent, Thiel, Washington & Jefferson, Waynesburg and Westminster.
