Staff Report

Register now for the following November programs:

The following programs require advance registration, so please note deadlines.

* Preschoolers will learn about their favorite waddling creatures – ducks! – at the Nov. 15 Preschool Park Pals program for ages 4 & 5. Parents can choose 10 a.m. or 1 p.m., and should register their children by Nov. 1. The program, which will include a story and craft, will be held at Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road.

* Registration is required by Nov. 10 for Homeschool Adventures: Fabulous Fibers, which will be held Nov. 17, 10 a.m., at Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road. Children ages 6-12 will learn how cultures have used plant and animal fibers throughout history, and will complete a craft and enjoy refreshments.

* Our popular Natural Wreath-Making program returns 1 p.m. Nov. 27, and participants must register by Nov. 20. The program will take place at Deer Haven Park, and is for ages 18 and older; the cost is $10 for materials. The following free programs do not require advance registration:

Saturday, Oct. 29, 8 a.m. Fall Bird Walk. The leaves are falling, and the last of the fall migrants are hurriedly winging south. We will look for stragglers and for our resident birds. Ages 7+. Char-Mar Ridge Park, 7741 Lewis Center Road.

Saturday, Oct. 29, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Halloween in the Hollow. Come and explore some of nature’s spooky animals, go on a scavenger hunt, take a hike or relax by the fire. Refreshments will be provided. All ages. Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run.
