Preservation Parks’ Rich Niccum answers questions about owls at the Big Walnut Nature Club’s Owl Prowl program.

A large crowd learned about Ohio’s owls at the Big Walnut Nature Club’s Owl Prowl program. Local birding enthusiast Charlie Bombaci shared a Power Point presentation on owl calls and their habitats. Preservation Parks Education Services Manager Rich Niccum brought taxidermied owls people could see up close. Then the group traveled to Char-Mar Ridge Preserve where Niccum led a moonlit walk in he snow calling for Barred Owls that live in the park.

The Big Walnut Nature Club focuses on conservation and education.
