COLUMBUS – Don’t miss an opportunity to learn from experts about the fascinating freshwater mussels found in the central Ohio waterways. A workshop will be held on Friday August 4th, 2017 at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park Nature Center located at 1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway, 43119 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
For a registration fee of only $20 (includes lunch), researchers and education professionals will share freshwater mussel biology, identification, and threats to mussel populations through formal presentations and hands-on opportunities. In the afternoon, participants will explore the waters of scenic Darby Creek putting their newfound knowledge to use searching for mussels.

This workshop is hands on and will take place outdoors. Please dress appropriately and be prepared to get wet. Items to bring include, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, soft-soled shoes or sandals with heel straps, towel, a dry change of clothes, and a drink. Please no glass drinking bottles.
