ABOUT HIGHBALL HALLOWEEN

HighBall Halloween is the nation’s most elaborate costume party. Staged in the fashion capital of Columbus, this yearly event for the Halloween season bridges runway style with the culture of the Short North Arts District.

Be part of the HighBall Halloween street spectacle and model yourself on High Street. At HighBall Halloween, you are what you wear.

ABOUT THE SHORT NORTH ARTS DISTRICT

Proceeds from HighBall Halloween go to support the Short North Alliance (SNA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving both the property owners and business owners of the Short North Arts District.

HighBall Halloween helps to underwrite the programs and activities of the Short North Alliance, including: clean and safe initiatives, promotions, holiday campaigns, public art installations, and parking management.

Additionally, numerous groups receive stipends to further their good works in return for their support of HighBall Halloween.

Poised at the gateway to the Short North Arts District, the Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) will show off more than 130 stunning works of local art when it makes its debut Sept. 2 as part of the district’s Gallery Hop circuit. As part of the GCCC’s recent $140 million expansion and renovation, the Convention Facilities Authority has acquired artwork by more than 100 local artists just for the convention center. These works display our community’s diversity, openness, and artistic strength to visitors, tourists, and residents alike. The GCCC’s collection includes a dramatic interactive sculpture created by local artist Matthew Mohr and unlike any other in the world, and Gallery Hop will be one of the earliest opportunities to see it on display. The Convention Facilities Authority, which owns the convention center, the Hilton Columbus Downtown, Nationwide Arena and four parking facilities, has invested more than $3.5 million to build the largest contemporary collection of Franklin County art. Stop in during Gallery Hop for refreshments, art tours and an opportunity to meet Matthew Mohr.
