The Big Walnut Area Historical Society is serving a Harvest Candlelight Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 18th in the Myers Inn Museum.

Members of the historical society cook the dishes at home then bring them to the Myers Inn for serving in the 1824 atmosphere of the Myers Inn Tavern which was built by Sunbury’s co-founder Lawrence Myers. The 1824 Tavern and hall connected the 1820 stagecoach inn and the 1816 home of the Myers family.

Dinner guests will be served turkey with all the trimmings. Rick Helwig as Thomas Nast’s Santa will provide the historical entertainment for the evening. So leave today behind and step into the 1800s to enjoy delightful evening. You may dress in vintage clothes if you wish.

Cost for the evening is $30 per person. Due to limited seating, reservations are a must. To get your tickets, call Damon, 614-745-4375.

Proceeds from the event help to keep the Myers Inn Museum open to the public.

Myers Inn Museum faces the southeast corner of Sunbury Square. It is open noon-3 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays as well as 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
