Chris Podraza recently announced that area girls entering the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades still have time to sign up for the fall youth volleyball league.
League participants meet from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Big Walnut High School gymnasium on Sundays, Aug. 28 through Oct. 16.
“This is a developmental league focusing on the fundamentals of volleyball and having fun,” Podraza said, “And best of all, this is for any area girl who wants to learn fundamental skills. You do not have to be a Big Walnut student to participate.”
Podraza, a former professional volleyball player and Big 10 All-American, assisted by members of the Big Walnut High School volleyball team, will coach the clinic.
The schedule includes volleyball clinics on Aug. 28 and Sept. 11, followed by league matches on Sept. 18, Sept. 25, Oct. 2, Oct. 9 and Oct. 16.
The league cost is $70 per player. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a 12U volleyball lite. If you already have a ball from last year, the fee is $50.
