Big Walnut Middle School eighth grade student Eliana Smith was recognized as the September Student of the Month during last week’s Board of Education meeting.
Eliana said she enjoys cooking and baking, specifically cream puffs or cupcakes with eclectic flavors.
As a member of the middle school SOAR PBIS committee and Student Leadership Council, Eliana played a crucial role in the development of last school year’s Big Walnut Middle School Service Day.
Middle school administrators said Eliana helps provide a positive learning and social environment for each student. She looks forward to getting good grades, works hard at being a role model and a model student both inside and outside the classroom.
“Eliana always displays attitudes and values worth of imitation,” states a release from the middle school staff. “Eliana can be counted upon to go above and far beyond expectations. She collaborates with peers and encourages them to take creative risks in learning.”
Eliana Smith is the daughter of Brian and Amy Smith and the sister of Daniel, a Big Walnut High School junior.
Eliana said her career goal is to either become an Art Teacher or Intervention Specialist.
