The 2016 Big Nut Strut is this Sunday. Registration begins at General Rosecrans Elementary School at 12:30 p.m. on race day; the 5k run/walk and 1-mile walk begin at 2 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. award ceremony.
The Big Nut Strut is a 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) family-friendly run/walk that benefits district elementary, intermediate, and middle school Parent-Teacher Organizations, helping them pay for activities that fall outside normal curriculum funding.
The 2016 Big Nut Strut is managed with all-online registrations. Paper registrations will only be accepted on race day, and during early packet pickup from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 1, at Sunbury Chiropractic Center, 123 State Route 3 in Sunbury Mills Plaza.
The 5K Run/Walk online and race-day registration fee is $30 plus a $3.20 sign up fee; 13 and under $20. The One-Mile Walk registration fee is $30 plus the sign up fee; 13 and under $20. Online registrations will be accepted until 6 p.m. Saturday, October 1.
Family rates are available for the 5K Run/Walk. Family of four is $80 plus $6 sign-up fee; family of five $100 plus $7.50, and a family of six $120 plus $9.
