NEW DATE FOR SR 315 CLOSURE NORTH AND SOUTH OF 750
In Delaware County
The following work is planned in the Delaware County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.
MONDAY, JANUARY 23 (NEW)
State Route 315 – At 5 a.m., SR 315 south of SR 750 to Jewett Road will close for three weeks, weather permitting, for tree clearing and utility relocation. The detour is SR 750 to US 23 to I-270 to SR 315. During the three week closure, crews may be working around-the-clock, which is permitted since it is outside the city limits. Chippers, chainsaws, generators and lights will be used for this work. The work could be loud. Completion: February 14 at noon, weather permitting.
MONDAY, JANUARY 30 (NEW)
State Route 315 – At 5 a.m., SR 315 north of SR 750 to Retreat Lane will close for 3 ½ months or 100 days for construction of the stabilization wall. The detour is SR 750 to US 23 to SR 315 or reverse. Wall construction will occur during daytime hours only. Completion: May 8, weather permitting.
Please note: During the SR 315 closures, SR 750 (both directions) will remain open.
HISTORY: The project will stabilize the slope that supports State Route 315 between Jewett Road and the Powell city limits. The slope stabilization is needed to maintain SR 315 and prevent further erosion generated by the Olentangy River. Stabilizing the slope includes building a ‘plug pile’ wall. This type of wall does not require a causeway and uses some of the existing vegetation on the bank. The ‘plug pile’ wall disturbs less of the natural environment, which will result in a reduction of run-off into the river.
