Conservatives endorse Mandel

U.S. SENATE RACE

Staff Report

Treasurer Josh Mandel’s fight to take back Washington continues to charge forward as the Club For Growth announced Dec. 21 their endorsement of Mandel’s bid for the U.S. Senate in 2018.

“Josh Mandel is a model of pro-growth fiscal conservatism in Ohio, and the Club for Growth PAC is proud to endorse him for U.S. Senate. Josh’s efforts to cut taxes at the state and local levels, his opposition to Obamacare expansion in Ohio, and his work to make the Buckeye State the best in the country for transparency in state spending all show the credentials of a proven economic conservative who will fight for taxpayers in Washington.”

— Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh.

The Club for Growth is the latest to join Treasurer Mandel’s fight along with Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Tom Cotton, the Senate Conservatives Fund, FreedomWorks PAC and the Madison Project.

Club for Growth’s endorsement comes on the heels of a newly released poll that shows Treasurer Josh Mandel as the clear republican favorite to defeat Sherrod Brown in 2018.

In head-to-head matchups, Treasurer Mandel led potential primary opponent U.S. Rep. Pat Tiberi by a wide margin of 60 percent to 12 percent, and other potential contender State Rep. Matt Huffman 62 percent to 8 percent. Additionally, the poll reported that a large 59 percent of Ohioans had a favorable opinion of Treasurer Mandel, while 49 percent of respondents had not heard of Rep. Tiberi and 61 percent were unfamiliar with State Rep. Huffman.

These results solidify the findings of another recent poll that shows Treasurer Mandel defeating Sherrod Brown in a one-on-one challenge 40 to 39 percent.

These strong, early results confirm that Treasurer Mandel is the clear, conservative choice to take on Sherrod Brown in 2018.
