2017 BIA Parade of Homes dates, builders and location announced

COLUMBUS – The BIA of Central Ohio announced that the 2017 BIA Parade of Homes will take place Sept. 2-17 at Cheshire Woods, a brand-new residential neighborhood in Berkshire Township in Delaware County. Located just east of I-71 on Cheshire Road, Cheshire Woods will ultimately feature 275 home sites and is being developed by Trinity Homes. Set in two of the state’s top-ranked school systems, Olentangy Local and Big Walnut School Districts, Cheshire Woods is expected to become a highly sought-after community for central Ohio families.

To date, eight of the region’s top builders have signed on to be featured in the 2017 Parade, including: Ambassador Homes; Fischer Homes; Manor Homes; Preston Development; Rockford Homes; Silvestri Group; Trinity Homes; Westport Homes.

With its picturesque backdrop and access to adjacent natural spaces, every home within Cheshire Woods will back up to the development’s natural woodland preserve. Homeowners will enjoy miles of walking trails, tranquil ponds, and wide open spaces for outdoor recreation. Easy access to the newly-opened Tanger Outlet Mall and Polaris area add convenience and appeal to the well-planned community.

“Cheshire Woods is an all-around exceptional neighborhood, offering everything families are seeking in an active, comfortable lifestyle community, from outstanding shopping to award-winning schools,” said Trinity Homes Vice President, Mark Vouis. “Trinity Homes is thrilled to be hosting the 2017 BIA Parade of Homes and we’re excited to introduce Parade guests to this new community.”

Vouis added that Cheshire Woods residents will enjoy a feature not offered in any other central Ohio neighborhood. All homeowners will have access to the brand-new, 3,000-square-foot clubhouse being built as part of the community plan. It will feature a large, well-appointed fitness center, a game room, a theater room and a full kitchen with indoor and outdoor dining, as well as a pool, patio and fire pit for outdoor recreation and gatherings.

“Coming off of the successful 2016 Parade of Homes at Verona in Powell, our builders are really energized about this year’s site,” said BIA Executive Director, Jim Hilz. “We fully expect that this year’s fall Parade at Cheshire Woods will offer our guests a truly different experience that is carefully planned around the way active families live today.”

Since 1943, the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio has represented single- and multi-family homebuilders, developers and remodelers throughout the area. The BIA Parade of Homes has been wowing hundreds of thousands of visitors for 64 years, via its tour of new homes, which feature the latest and greatest in home design and decor. Each year, central Ohio’s premier builders showcase stunning homes, offering Parade guests the opportunity to experience the most current trends firsthand. BIA members will continue this tradition in 2017, working to bring even more innovation to the housing industry.

The Building Industry Association of Central Ohio has chosen Berkshire Township’s Cheshire Woods as the venue for the 2017 Parade of Homes.

Berkshire Township Trustee Rodney Myers said the township was excited to learn it will be the host for a second time. “The announcement just came up,” he said.

Cheshire Woods is located between I-71 and Rome Corners Road, south of Cheshire Road.

Jim Hilz, BIA executive director, said, Cheshire Woods was one of three venues that was considered for this year’s event.

“It’s about where the builders feel the most attractive area is,” he said. “It looked like a pretty good area because it’s a new section being added to an existing community.”

The homes will range $500,000-$700,000 in price, and a club house with a pool and health facilities are being added.

In 2016, the association built 16 houses on the 113.5-acre site of Verona just off of State Route 750 near the Columbus Zoo in Powell.

Hilz told The Gazette last year that the larger number of homes built for the Verona development in 2016 was due to the improved economy and the parade’s location. “It’s a very visible sight,” he said. “That’s what attracted the builders.”

The development featured homes that can be seen from Powell Road. Average price of the homes were between $800,000 and $1.3 million.
