In Delaware County
The following work is planned in the Delaware County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.
MONDAY, MARCH 20
Worthington Road – (NEW) From 9 AM to 4PM daily, the right turn lane of southbound Worthington Road to westbound Polaris Parkway will close for storm sewer work at the intersection. Two left turn lanes and one thru lane will be available for southbound traffic at the intersection. Right turns will be permitted from the southbound thru lane. Completion: April 2.
Polaris Parkway – (NEW) Westbound Polaris Parkway will be reduced to one lane for thru traffic at Worthington Road from 9 AM to 4 PM daily for storm sewer work at the intersection. The right and left turn lanes onto Worthington Road will remain open. The right lane of westbound Polaris Parkway, west of the intersection, will also close at 9 AM. This lane will remain closed for one month. This closure is approximately 300 feet long. The right turn lane into the Goo-Goo Car Wash/Mellow Mushroom shopping plaza will remain open.
State Route 203 – (NEW) AT 7 AM, SR 203 will close between Hillsmiller Road and Lawrence Road for a culvert replacement. The detour is SR 203 to SR 37 to SR 257 to SR 47 to SR 203 or reverse. Completion: March 24 at 3 PM.
State Route 315 – SR 315 north of SR 750 to Retreat Lane will close for 3 ½ months or 100 days for construction of the stabilization wall. The detour is SR 750 to US 23 to SR 315 or reverse. Wall construction will occur during daytime hours only. Please note, both directions of SR 750 will remain open. Completion: May 8.
In Franklin County
The following work is planned in the Franklin County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.
THURSDAY, MARCH 15
Interstate 71 (South Side) – (NEW) I-71 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between SR 665 and Stringtown Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for cable barrier repair. Completion: March 18th.
Second Street (Downtown) – Second Street will close at Fulton Street so crews can complete installation of a mega storm sewer. Completion: April 14th.
U.S. Route 62 (South Side) – US 62 will be reduced to one lane between I-71 and SR 665 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for road work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Completion: May 31st.
Smothers Road (North Side) – Smothers Road will be closed in both directions between Schott Road and Sunbury Road for the rehabilitation of the Smothers Road bridge over Hoover Reservoir. The detour for westbound motorist will be to follow Schott Road south to Walnut Street to Cubbage Road west to Central College Road south to Sunbury Road west to Smothers Road north or reverse for eastbound motorists. Completion: June 30th.
North Side Mega Fix
Interstate 270/State Route 315/US Route 23 (North Side) –The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph on I-270 between US 23 and SR 315 as major construction to build new ramps and bridges is ongoing. Motorists should be aware of new ramp configurations:
· Drivers coming from US 23 south to I-270 west will be on the ramp for a mile and pass over SR 315 before using the temporary ramp to merge onto I-270 west.
· I-270 west traffic exiting at SR 315 will exit sooner – merge into the right lane for SR 315 north, stay in left lane on the ramp for SR 315 south.
· Finally, traffic coming from SR 315 north to I-270 should stay in the left lane on the ramp. Drivers will go a mile on the ramp and travel under US 23 before merging onto I-270 east.
