Walmart opens training academy in Marysville

Marysville – On April 20, Walmart officially opened its new training academy in Marysville at the Walmart located at 555 Colemans Crossing Blvd. Academies are a dedicated facility located in, or adjacent to, a Walmart Supercenter where hourly supervisors and department managers will receive two weeks of hands-on training that combines both the classroom and the sales floor.

The Walmart Training Academy in Marysville will serve associates from 25 Walmart stores located in Champaign, Clark, Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Logan, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Shelby and Union Counties. The opening of the Marysville academy will follow a graduation ceremony in which 60 associates will be recognized for completing the program.

Walmart plans to build approximately 200 academies in the U.S. by the end of 2017. The Academy in Marysville is the 102nd in the country and fifth in Ohio. The other Ohio academies are located in Findlay, West Chester, Streetsboro and Canton. Each academy will train associates from approximately 25 nearby stores.
