Hylen Souders Elementary School student Travis Conrad was recognized as a student of the month during the Thursday, April 20, Big Walnut Local School District Board of Education.
Travis’s teachers said he demonstrates a quiet leadership that resonates with the entire school community.
STEM teacher Natalie Siclair said Travis is an outstanding young man.
“I truly am happy to see him every day,” Siclair said. “I know him through his superior duties on Safety Patrol as well as in STEM class. He is a silent leader. He possesses the skills to take himself very far in life, the sky is his only limit.”
Fourth grade teacher Amy Eikenberry said Travis is a polite and kind young man.
“Travis is a hard working student who always tries to put his very best foot forward,” Eikenberry said. “I appreciate his leadership skills in the classroom to include everyone and make sure everyone feels like a part of the team.”
Instructional Facilitator Katie Grijak said Travis is quiet most of the time, but definitely a leader.
“Travis leads by example,” Grijak said. “He’s kind and compassionate towards others. He’s always willing to help out. He will often do things to help without being asked. He is smart and a hard worker, and he does not give up.”
Travis is the son of Scott Conrad and Jenny Myers. He has two brothers, Scottie and Chase, and three sisters, Jessica, Melissa, and Tiffany.
