Notice of Public Meeting

The Genoa Township Board of Trustees will be meeting in Special Session on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Genoa Township Conference Room, 5111 South Old 3C Highway, Westerville, Ohio 43082.

The purpose of this meeting is to hold an Executive Session to consider the compensation of public employees and officials. The Trustees will be reviewing medical insurance proposals, and there may be a resolution after the executive session.

Upcoming ODOT Work In Morrow County

The following work is planned in the Morrow County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.

TUESDAY, MAY 23

State Route 314 – (NEW) SR 314 south will be reduced to one lane of traffic daily between US 42 and Waterford Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pavement resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Completion: May 26th.

The following work is planned in the Delaware County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 24

State Route 521 – (NEW) SR 521 will be reduced to one lane of two-way traffic between 3B’s & K Road and North Galena Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for road maintenance. Traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals. Completion: May 26th.

U.S. Route 23 – (NEW) US 23 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between US 42 and US 36 from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. for overhead sign installation. Completion: May 26th.

Ongoing ODOT Work in Delaware County

State Route 203 – SR 203 will be reduced to one lane of two-way traffic between SR 37 in Delaware County and SR 47 in Marion County from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for pavement repair and resurfacing. Completion: June 9.

Community Yard Sale

There will be a Community Yard Sale at the Harlem Twp. Community Park, on SR 605 across from the Harlem Twp. Fire Station. Set up can start at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, May 27. Sale will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Go to www.harlemtwpheritage.org to reserve a space. Spaces cost $10, payable on set up.

Decoration Day Saturday

This Saturday, May 27 from 9:30-11:30, join us RAIN or SHINE to decorate bikes, trikes, scooters, strollers, wagons, and walkers then join us on Monday morning and ride, scoot, stroll, or walk with us to honor the fallen in the Powell, Ohio Memorial Day Parade.

Details: TREEHIVE cafe + play is the place where we are partnering with @littlevangoghartschool (http://littlevangoghartschool.weebly.com/) to provide kids of all ages with decorating supplies and activites to adorn your favoride 2 or 4-wheeled form of human-powered transportation with red, white, and blue. If you are out of time on Saturday or in the event of rain, stop in and pick up a kit to decorate at home, then join us on Monday and walk in the parade with us. Feel free to bring your own materials, especially if you have a friend or family member you wish to personally honor in the parade.

Want to ride or walk with a personal flair? Bring a plain white t-shirt on Saturday and visit the special shirt-decorating craft table, then wear it with pride on Monday.

Mixing comedy, music and a unique level of community participation, he engages and delights audiences of all ages.

Ohio Wildlife

An Update on Healthcare Reform

DelCo Master Gardener Talks/Preservation Parks

Join the OSU Extension Delaware County Master Gardeners during the Preservation Parks Antique Tractor Show at Gallant Farm. Learn about growing vegetables, herbs, berries, container gardening, bee keeping, and more from local experts. Master Gardener talks will run continuously from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Increase your gardening knowledge while participating in the many other Gallant Farm activities during the Antique Tractor Show.

Tractor Show to be held June 3

A free antique tractor show will be held Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road. Besides showing these machines that changed farmers’ lives forever, visitors can enjoy an old-fashioned cake walk, a kiddy pedal tractor pull, a children’s play area, a toy tractor display. This program is for all ages.

Summer Letterbox Adventure is underway

Preservation Parks’ award-winning family letterbox adventure is happening now. It’s part geocaching, part scavenger hunt, and all about nature exploration. Between now and August 6, children and their families search for small boxes hidden along park trails, learning about nature as they go. Everyone who finds all eight boxes will win a prize. Registration due June 2 for the “Astonishing Race” Father’s Day event

The Astonishing Race will have teams competing against one another, as they accomplish a series of challenges throughout the park. The team that finishes with the best time wins a prize. The event will be held Friday, June 16, 6:30 p.m. at Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road. The “Astonishing Race” is free and for all ages, but team registration is required by June 2. Friends of the Delaware County District Library Fund Raising Partnership with City Barbeque, Powell

Friends of the Library are hosting a fund raising day at City Barbeque, Powell, Ohio on June 5, 2017. Present a certificate and a portion of the purchase will be given to FOL. Certificates are available at Powell Library and at the City of Powell Lollipop Concert on June 5.

Season of Giving

On June 11, New Song Community Church in Reynoldsburg will host a kick-off celebration for a project that will give 12 million children around the world a reason to smile. Through Operation Christmas Child, Delaware County residents are hoping to pack 50,371 empty shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys for children in affected by war, disease, disaster, poverty, and famine.
