Several activities at the Community Library, 44 Burrer Drive, have been announced. They include:

Sunbury Writer’s Club

Tuesday, Oct. 13

7-8 p.m.

Meets on the second Tuesday evening of the month

Anyone who writes is welcome to attend. This club is a safe, friendly environment where each person is invited to join in a “sharing circle.” Everyone is expected to bring something they have written to share with the group. All types of writing is encouraged.

We will add a brief period to do some writing exercises.

First Thursday Book Group

Thursday, Oct. 1 and Nov. 5

7-8 p.m.

The book we will discuss at the October meeting is “The Paris Wife” by Paula McLain. The book we will read in October to be discussed at the November meeting is “One Thousand White Women” by Jim Fergus. Extra copies of the featured books are available to participants.

Movies for Grownups

Thursday, Oct. 8

6:30 p.m.

Admission is free but please RSVP so that we have a seat for you.

“Woman in Gold” — Starring Helen Mirren, based on a true story. Maria Altmann, an octogenarian Jewish refugee, takes on the Austrian government to recover artwork she believes rightfully belongs to her family.

Autumn Yearly Bulb Exchange

Sketch Book Class

Monday, Oct. 19

6:30-7:30 p.m.

For teens/adults. This class is free but please RSVP. Class size is limited.

Bring a sketch book and drawing materials; bring what you have and be prepared to have fun.

Morning Cuppa

Wednesday, Oct. 14

10-11 a.m.

Join us for a “cuppa” coffee, a doughnut and plenty of conversation on the second Wednesday of every month.

Participants write up to two questions on strips of paper and put them in the hat. Someone picks a question from the hat and we’re off and running. Judy and Bruce Denton will be our hosts.

Knit Wits for knitters & crocheters

Every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon

and Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bring your knitting or crochet project to work on, or if you need help getting started, bring some yarn and needles. Need a suggestion for a project? It’s time to start creating something for Community Library’s Mitten Tree in November.

Morning Yoga

Wednesdays, 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28 with Laura Coulson. A gentle, Hatha-style yoga. No pre-registration necessary.

Cost: $7/class. Pay at each class.

Gentle Yoga

Wednesdays, 1-2 p.m.
