Ripley hired as full-time firefighter

Harlem Township trustees agreed to make part-time firefighter Josh Ripley full time recently.

Trustees met in special session on Aug. 26.

Township Fire Chief Dale Fling asked trustees to approve the conditional hiring of Ripley as a full-time township firefighter.

The usual background check and physical examination requirements were waived because Ripley was already serving as a part-time firefighter with the township.

Fling said Ripley had passed a written examination and, if trustees approved the request, he would become a probationary employee of the Harlem Township Division of Fire.

Trustees approved moving Ripley from part-time to full-time status.
