Eagle Madness was held in the Big Walnut High School gymnasium last Friday evening.
In its 17th year of welcoming in the winter sports season, formal introductions were made of Big Walnut Youth Basketball Association recreation and travel boys and girls teams, and seventh-grade, eighth-grade, freshman, junior varsity and varsity basketball teams and cheer squads.
The evening included a host of games, music, door prizes, T-shirts, and a half-court shot contest. Chris Podraza won $50 using a surrogate shooter.
The highlight of the evening was an autograph session by members of the high school boys and girls varsity teams.
Jamaal Thomas served as event emcee, and 2013 grad Sadie Allen — aka DJ Goldilocks — provided music.
Big Walnut boys varsity and JV basketball opens at home on Saturday, Nov. 28, against Buckeye Valley. The girls varsity and JV squads’ home opener is Monday, Nov. 23, also versus Buckeye Valley.
