Hidden Creek Farms at 581 S. Galena Road is a family farm co-owned by Norman and Mary Williamson that produces a wide variety of vegetables and herbs, raises chickens for eggs, produces raw honey from the farm’s own hives, and boasts a large pumpkin patch. Best of all, Hidden Creek Farms traditional weekend Fall Festival starts on Saturday September 23 and runs every weekend through October 29.
Hidden Creek Farms Fall Festival opens at 10 a.m. and runs through 6 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday, and admission is a modest $7 per person, children under 2 are admitted for free.
“Admission includes a hayride to the pumpkin patch, a pumpkin slide, and a kids play barn with corn pit and slide,” Mary Williamson said. “There’s also a straw maze, and children can even win a pumpkin by taking a shot with a corn cannon.”
Pony rides for $4 will be available on October 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, Williamson said, and there will be a farm animal petting zoo and additional age appropriate games.
“Hidden Creek Farms is very community oriented,” Williamson said. “There’s nothing scary during our family oriented Fall Festival. Everything is geared for children in kindergarten through age 12. Our play barn is designed for little kids 3 and 4 years old, and special-needs children are always welcome.”
Williamson said if you arrive hungry you won’t leave hungry because the Hidden Creek Farms Fall Festival food offerings includes fresh-baked pies, caramel apples, hot and cold apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee and cold drinks, kettle corn, hot dogs, and pulled pork BBQ sandwiches.
Hidden Creek Farms Farmer’s Market is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. through October 31. Fall Festival activities are Saturday and Sunday only.
All major credit cards are accepted at the Hidden Creek Farms Famers Market and at the Fall Festival.
