Scott Thomas may spend most of his time thousands of miles from home, but he never forgets just where that home is.
The former Buckeye Valley and Bowling Green State University standout, and current professional basketball player, was back in Delaware early last month to host a basketball camp — an event which drew over 60 boys from eight neighboring school districts and four different counties.
The camp raised $1,550 for the BV basketball program.
Thomas, who will take off for Europe later this month to resume his pro career with Limburg United (Belgium) in the Ethias League, said he hopes to host more camps in the future, enabling him to continue to give back to Buckeye Valley and the community.
“I don’t think anyone loves where they’re from more than me, and that’s something I take great pride in,” he said. “The Buckeye Valley community has given unbelievable support throughout my high school and college careers, and continues to support me in my professional career in Europe.
“I want to show my appreciation and give back all I can so hopefully some of those players will have the same kind of opportunities and experiences that I was fortunate enough to have.”
