Local children are invited to hunt Easter eggs, coins and treasure at Galena’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 19, at Ruffner Park, located at 152 Harrison Street, in Galena. The event begins at 1 p.m. sharp, rain or shine.
More than 2,200 eggs will be prepared with 10,000 pieces of candy as well as pennies. The Easter Egg Hunt will be divided into age groups for infants to 4 years old, 5 to 7 years old and 8 to 10 years old. The 5-to-7 year-olds and 8-to-10 year-olds also can participate in a coin and candy toss. Ages 11-to-14 can participate in a Scavenger Hunt for 25 presidential dollars. One child in each age group will be lucky enough to find a big egg that qualifies them for a special Easter basket prize.
Children can visit with the Easter bunny and each child will receive a gift.
The event is organized by the Galena Special Events Committee.
