Big Walnut High School freshman cross-country runner Colbi Borland has had a remarkable beginning to her high school XC and Track & Field career with a 19:53.23 run at last Saturday’s Ohio High School Athletic Association Central District Division I Cross Country meet at Watkins Memorial High School.
Borland’s 16th place finish qualified her to run in the regional championship this Saturday at Pickerington North High School, and was key in the Big Walnut High School Girls Cross-Country Team finishing in 7th place at districts.
Borland, who earned the Big Walnut High School girl’s XC freshman record with a first place 19:46 run at the Bucyrus Invitational in September, also ran a career-best 17:21.2 at the Thomas Worthington Invitational to take ownership of the high school girl’s XC record.
Big Walnut boys finished 18th at District. The Golden Eagles boys were led by junior Will Hefner who finished 60th with a time of 17:40.
