Big Walnut school board member Brad Schneider had kudos for the Big Walnut High Baseball Team reaching the Division II Final Four recently.
“It’s fun to see how the high school baseball program engages kids in the community,” Schneider said. “Our team had great community support, and our athletes carried themselves very well in how they represented our community.”
Board member Allison Fagan added, “… it was nice to walk into Huntington Park and see a sea of red,” in the stands behind the home team dugout.
Board member Andy Wecker recognized members of the Big Walnut/DACC FFA Agricultural Issues Forum Team that placed first at state competition during the Ohio FFA Convention in April.
“By becoming state champions, the students have qualified to compete in the national contest this October in Louisville, Kentucky,” Wecker said.
The Big Walnut/DACC FFA Agricultural Issues Forum Team members are Gabby Adair, Harrison George, Meghann Hale, Troy Herrel and Lex Marvin.
Board president Mindy Meyer also noted the performance of the Big Walnut High School Track & Field Team that sent freshman Abe Myers to the OHSAA State Track & Field Meet, where Myers placed eighth in discus.

Board members will hold a special board meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, in the Big Walnut Intermediate School Central Office Conference Room.
The next regularly-scheduled Big Walnut Local School District Board of Education meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 9, in the Big Walnut High School Media Center.
Board members will hold a Special Board Work Session at 4 p.m., Monday, July 27, in the Big Walnut Intermediate School Central Office Conference Room.
