Planet Fitness will be opening in Delaware at 800 W. Central Ave. in the former Buehler’s Grocery.

Members can join for just $1 down and then $10 a month before the club officially opens.

Unlimited small group fitness instruction is included in all memberships.

Planet Fitness offers memberships for $10 a month, where members experience a hassle-free, non-intimidating environment. Each club also features the “Lunk Alarm” – a purple and yellow siren on the wall used to gently remind people that grunting, dropping weights or judging others is not permitted.

The new Delaware Planet Fitness will be 22,000 sq. feet and will offer over 100 brand new cardio machines, new fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, 2 massage chairs, 28 full size flat screen televisions, a 30-minute express circuit and PF360, 2 Hydro-massage beds, 5 tanning beds and 3 tanning booths and 1 Total Body Enhancement booth. The club will be open 24 hours, seven days a week and always staffed.

Membership includes unlimited small group fitness instruction by a certified trainer. In addition, as a member appreciation gesture, Planet Fitness provides free pizza on the first Monday of every month, and free bagels on the second Tuesday of every month, while supplies last.

Planet Fitness also offers the PF Black Card membership. For $21.99 a month, this premium membership includes access to all clubs in the Planet Fitness chain (more than 1,000), as well as use of massage chairs, Hydro-massage beds and Total Body enhancement booths, tanning, 50 percent off select cooler drinks, and the opportunity to bring a guest every day at no additional charge.
