Trinity J. Smith of Sunbury and Jacob N. Wenner of Lewis Center have been awarded scholarships from the Delaware County Agricultural Society for the 2017-2018 academic year. Each recipient received a $1,000 scholarship towards their first year of college.
Smith is a graduate of Buckeye Valley High School where she was active in FFA, a member of the varsity bowling team and National Honor Society. She also served as a member of the Sale Committee, served on the Junior Fair Board and was very involved in the county 4-H program. She just completed her first semester at Oklahoma State University where she is studying Biosystems Engineering.
Wenner is a graduate of home schooling, served as president of the Junior Fair Board, served as the beef co-superintendent and was very involved in service projects in both his community and through his church. Wenner is currently a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he is also a member of the rowing team. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
The Delaware County Agricultural Society scholarships are awarded each year to students from the Delaware community for their outstanding scholarship, leadership and citizenship.
