Students Participate in FFA Knowledge Contest

Students in the Big Walnut – DACC Agricultural Science Education program competed in the Greenhand Quiz Career Development Event state contest on February 28, 2018.

In this event, students completed a seventy-five question test about the history of the National FFA Organization, the structure and function of the FFA Organization, and roles and responsibilities of those involved in the FFA at the state and national level.

The team was led by Caleb Durheim (20th) and also included Lexie Kirkpatrick, Caroline Elicson, Maggie McDermott, and Jon Kessler.

All students placed in the top 25 percent of competitors in the state.

There were 2,069 total students participating in the contest from 147 schools across the state.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is composed of 653,359 members belonging to one of 8,568 chapters throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
