Local team places second in Envirothon

The Delaware Area Career Center’s Big Walnut FFA team earned second place out of 50 teams at the recent Area 5 Envirothon, which was held at Liberty Park in Hillsboro. The Envirothon is a high school competition designed to stimulate, reinforce, and enhance student interest in the environment and natural resources through onsite, hands-on tests about soils, forestry, wildlife, aquatic ecology, and current environmental issues. The Big Walnut FFA team earned a trip to the Ohio Envirothon on June 11-12 at Cedarville University in Greene County. The champion team also has the honor of competing at the National Envirothon July 22-28 at Idaho State University in Pocatello.
