Make A Difference Delaware County – October 27, 2018. Fantastic morning of service to older adults and non-profits. Register to volunteer before Oct. 14 at ConnectionsVolunteerCenter.org
Preservation Parks of Delaware County – Help needed decorating for the Annual Trick or Treat Trail. Decorate on Sat., Oct 20, 9:30-11:30 a.m. or dress up and help with the event on Sunday afternoon.
YMCA – Youth Basketball Coaches sought for the K-2nd and 3rd-6th grade leagues starting mid-October. Must be available one time during the week for practice and on Saturday mornings for games. Oct. 22-Dec. 14.
City of Dublin – Join in the fun of their Halloween Spooktacular on Thurs., Oct. 18. Help with pumpkin bowling, crafts, or at the hay maze. They also are seeking regular Bicycle Ambassadors.
SourcePoint – Join in, volunteer, get perks and make new friends! Saturday Fitness Attendant, Meals on Wheels drivers, Home Chores, Medical Transportation, Caregiver Relief, Winter Kitchen Assistants and Art Assistant needed.
Dempsey Extended Day – Seeking volunteers to help with this after-school tutoring program. Help with homework, catch up on work, with academic assistance and coordinate collaboration on projects. Volunteer one afternoon or more, Mon.-Thurs., 2:40-4:30 p.m.
Grace Clinic — This free medical ministry in Delaware City is in need of Pharmacists, Optometrists, Dentists, Physicians, Interpreters, Nurses and Prayer Encouragers. Hours: Monday’s 9 a.m.-noon, Tuesday’s 5:30-9 p.m., Wednesdays 5:30-9 p.m.
Kids on the Block — Learn and perform a 10-minute skit at local schools during the school year educating children in ways to get help in situations of bullying, abuse, and from strangers on the internet.
Senior Companion — Help older adults maintain their independence by being a friend who takes them shopping or to doctor appointments, go for walks or play cards. Companions must be 55 or older and able to dedicate 15-20 hours a week. Companions are paid a tax-free stipend and have benefits. Income restrictions apply.
Place of Warmth — This winter will be the 4th season for A Place of Warmth at Zion. Volunteers sought for nightly shifts on the coldest nights of winter to offer warmth and hospitality.
Delaware County Historical Society – Oral History Project interviewees needs to help record memories. They are seeking people who were 15 years or older in 1968 to talk about their memories of this pivotal time in U.S. history. Interview will last approximately 1 hour.
Adaptive Sports Connection – Help provide volunteer-driven opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Cycling volunteers needed to assist Oct. 13 & 27.
Volunteer Guardian Program – Guardians serve individuals who have no family or friends able or willing to assist them. People whose ability to process information and conduct their affairs has deteriorated. They are alone and they need your help.
Strand Theatre & Cultural Arts – Movies are magic and The Strand is a magical place that has been in the Delaware Community for 101 years! Keep the magic alive by volunteering.
Founded in 1996, Connections coordinates the referral and placement of volunteers for more than 70 different agencies who offer more than 200 volunteer opportunities. In the past year, Connections matched over 1,300 volunteers who engaged in almost 20,000 hours of service to the community. An affiliate of HelpLine, Connections core services are partially funded by United Way of Delaware County and SourcePoint.
