Workshop for Senior Job Seekers


Employment For Seniors, Inc. announces the 2018 Fall workshop program to be held in Delaware County. The workshop program was created to provide mature job seekers, 50 years of age and older, with the “nuts and bolts” needed in today’s job market.

This job-assistance non-profit organization has been serving Central Ohio seniors for over 45 years, assisting those searching for part time or full time employment.

The Delaware County workshop program, is free of charge for those Delaware residents 50 years and older.

Registration is required (space is limited) by calling the EFS office at 614-863-1219.

“Job Searching? Learn Strategies That Work!” consists of two (2) workshops over a two day period, including:

Workshop #1: Strategies for Mature Job Seekers (9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.)

Workshop #2: LinkedIn for Mature Job Seekers (9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.)

Participants learn tips for employment searching and applications in today’s economy, including such topics as: resumes, interviewing, networking, and social media. Participants can register for one or more sessions. The workshops will be offered at the following locations:

Workshop #1: October 10th

Workshop #2: October 17th

Community Library (44 Burrer Dr. Sunbury)

Workshop #1: October 30th

Workshop #2: November 13th

Employment For Seniors Delaware workshop program is funded through the generous support of SourcePoint: Thrive after 55, and the Woodhull Fund of the Columbus Foundation.

The “Basics for Mature Job Seekers” workshop program provides assistance to mature individuals (50 years and older) who are searching for part time or full time employment.

The workshops focus on the changes to employment searching in today’s economy, including resume development, interviewing skills and networking. The second day participants will receive detailed information on utilizing LinkedIn as a job search tool.

The workshops are free of charge.

Registration is necessary, as space is limited; call Employment For Seniors at 614-863-1219. Through grants from the Franklin County Office on Aging, Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, the Woodhull Fund of the Columbus Foundation, and private donations, the workshops provide mature job seekers with opportunities to reach economic stability.

The two-day workshop programs will be provided at the Employment For Seniors office at 4300 E. Broad Street (First Commonwealth Bank Building).
