Pumpkin decorating contest winners.

Howard Hanna Realcom Sunbury has just completed their 4th Delaware County area schools annual pumpkin decorating contest.

Participating students at Hylen Souders Elementary and Harrison Street Elementary were challenged this year to take part in a pumpkin decorating contest. The grand prize was a pizza party for winning classes at each school. Howard Hanna Realcom provided Pre-K-4th grade classes a pumpkin to decorate and show off their class room creative talents, and they didn’t disappoint! The students at Hylen Souders were very excited as the judges from the Howard Hanna Realcom Realty group gathered at their assembly to announce the winners. The winners for Harrison Street and Hylen Souders schools were both awarded stickers to each of the students for participation. Trophies and pizza parties are awarded for all five winning classes after picking the winners at each school. The winning pumpkins were transported to Howard Hanna’s Sunbury office where they were on display for the public to view. The remaining several pumpkins were delivered to two area senior centers, Country View Care Center in Condit, and SourcePoint in Delaware, where the children’s art work was displayed and it was sure to bring smiles to all the senior citizens that viewed them.

The winners of the pizza party at Hylen Souders Elementary were Miss Norton’s Kindergarten class with the Tin Man, Mrs. Statler’s 4th grade class with the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland; and Mrs. Holiday’s 1st grade class with Spider Man. The winners at Harrison Street Elementary were Mrs. Moser’s 1st grade class with a Candy Apple and Mrs. Truax’s 4th grade class with an Eagle.

Howard Hanna Realcom would like to thank all of the principals, teachers and the administration for encouraging and fostering student involvement. It is so much fun to see the students enthusiasm and the joy it brings to their faces and the community’s enjoyment sharing their visions of what a pumpkin should look like.
