WHAT: 2017 Greater Columbus March for Babies

March for Babies is the March of Dimes largest fundraiser and America’s favorite walking event. March for Babies helps families win the fight against premature birth. It funds clinics and treatments that help more women go full term and have healthy babies. It funds research to discover the unknown causes of premature birth and find new ways to stop it. The money raised supports the March of Dimes mission to help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies have a healthy start.

WHY: In an average YEAR in Ohio, 140,000 babies are born – 14,000 of them are born too soon and 1,000 die before reaching their first birthday. Premature birth is the leading cause of death for babies and those who survive often face serious and lifelong health problems, including breathing problems, vision loss, cerebral palsy and intellectual delays.
