Girl Scouts of the USA announces the celebrities, influencers, and leaders who will headline G.I.R.L. 2017, a mega-event for all girls, taking place on October 6–8 in Columbus, Ohio at the at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, where more than 10,000 girls, women, leaders, and influencers are expected to attend.
Names include Chelsea Clinton, Barbara Pierce Bush, Gabby Douglas, Mae Jemison, Angelica Hale, Caly Bevier from America’s Got Talent; Gabby Frost, founder of the Buddy Project, and Marley Dias, creator of #1000BlackGirlBooks, and more—along with female leaders from organizations such as Facebook, Instagram, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, NASA, and AT&T, who will lead discussions about the issues facing girls today and the importance of their leadership development.
G.I.R.L. 2017 will be the ultimate back to school trip for girls to get inspired, build confidence, learn new skills and make lifelong friends with like-minded girls. The event is open to all girls (not just Girl Scouts) in grades K–12. Anticipated to be the largest girl-led event in the world, attendees will participate in a wide range of daily activities, including live entertainment, workshops, breakout sessions, daily celebrations and unique social and educational experiences that focus on STEM, entrepreneurship, life skills, outdoors and more.
