September 26, 2017 (Columbus, OH) – Family Pride Network of Central Ohio (FPN) is hosting its third annual event and resource fair on October 14th, 2017. The event features an agenda that provides LGBTQ families and prospective parents access to social and educational programming, as well as professional resources that they can use to enhance the wellbeing of their family or to start building their family. This year, the event will be split into a track for Prospective Parents in the morning followed by fun activities for families with kids in the afternoon, with a resource and book fair for all participants.

“It’s exciting to see how much this event has grown over the past few years, and now draws from well beyond the outerbelt to neighboring cities throughout Ohio. The event serves as a place for our community to connect with each other as well as with welcoming service providers who fully understand their unique circumstances and needs. Equally important is the opportunity for the children to engage with their peers and gain a deeper sense of self-confidence in knowing that there are other kids who have families that look like theirs,” says Joe Matessa, FPN’s board president and co-founder.

Conference attendees have a lot to look forward to including:

● A two-hour “Pathways to Parenthood” learning track, led by LGBTQ parents and experts in the fields of adoption, foster parenting, assisted reproduction, surrogacy and financial support

● A resource expo with providers specializing in adoption, foster parenting, assisted reproduction, legal assistance, child care, finance, education, health, wellness, spirituality, and more

● A book fair hosted by the Book Loft of German Village

● A catered lunch

● Live entertainment featuring the Shazzbots, face painting, a balloon artist and fall crafts

Event registration is now open at familypridenetwork.org. Tickets for the “Pathways to Parenthood” track are available for $5/adult attendee for FPN members and $10/adult attendee for non members. The family event and resource fair, beginning at Noon, will be free for all to attend. The event will be held at The Childhood League Center in Columbus (674 Cleveland Ave, Columbus, OH 43215).
