The Big Walnut School District student of the month for Big Walnut Elementary School is Ella Grace Erwine.
Ella is 9 years old but has a birthday coming up on Valentines Day. She is in Milea Sarap’s fourth-grade homeroom but Julie Tuel’s classes.
Ella said her favorite subject is math, because “… it comes easy to me and it’s fun.”
She lives with her parents, Brandon and Amanda, and her two brothers, Mason and Reid. Ella also said that she loves animals, but has no pets at this time (she’s working on it).
This is Ella’s first year in the Big Walnut district. She came from McVay Elementary in Westerville, where she attended preschool through third grade.
In her spare time, Ella likes to read (thick books like Dork Diaries and Harry Potter) and play outside, and she loves to knit.
Ella said she likes pop music and enjoys listening to Taylor Swift. She can also play the guitar. Her favorite song to play is “Let it Go.”
Ella has played softball for three years and looks forward to joining a Big Walnut team this year. Her favorite position is second base.
Ella’s favorite memory of Big Walnut Elementary so far? Ella said it’s how nice everyone was to her when she first came to the school.
