Harrison Street Elementary School fourth-grade student Colton McKee was recognized as a student of the month during last Thursday’s Big Walnut Board of Education meeting.
An avid fisherman, Colton enjoys spending as much of his time in the pond or on the sea searching for any kind of fish he can find. His crowning moment was when he caught a four-foot shark on a deep-sea fishing expedition.
Colton said if he could have it his way, he would be perfectly happy to spend all of his time living on a boat and fishing.
He loves golf, basketball and football. Colton played basketball this winter and brought home the championship with his team.
He loves the Cavaliers, Steph Curry, Odell Beckham and Bubba Watson. As a goal moving forward, Colton hopes to get better at these sports and desires to be a professional fisherman when he grows up.
Colton is described by his teachers as a generally kind and bright student. He’s caring toward his classmates, and goes above and beyond in the classroom.
Colton said he enjoys Harrison Street Elementary because the teachers and janitors are nice, and he loves specials and math.
He said he wants to thank all of the Harrison staff for helping him to become smarter, his parents for helping him with anything, and to his brother, Kolin, for always playing with him.
