The OSU Alumni Club of Delaware County scholarship fundraiser “BuckeyeBlast!,” now in its fifth year, will be on Tuesday, April 12, at The Lakes Golf & Country Club, 6740 Worthington Road, Westerville.
This year’s event will feature former Ohio State University and NFL football player James Cotton.
Featured will be a pasta bar, chicken parmesan, salad, coffee, iced tea and dessert. There will also be a cash bar, silent auction, raffle and door prizes. Dress will be casual, and can include Buckeye attire.
A local caricature artist will be available for personalized sketches, and four former OSU football players will be available for autographs and photos.
“This year we are also collecting food and personal care items for the Delaware County food bank,” club secretary Joyce Wagner said. “Items of greatest need include personal care like toothbrushes and paste, soap, shampoo and deodorant, baby food, cereal and canned vegetables. Collection boxes will be located at the registration table.”
Want to donate to the food bank but can’t stay for dinner? Wagner said staff would available to accept donations at your car. Simply drive up and drop off donations between 5 and 6 p.m.
Tickets are $45 per person, and children age 10 and under will get in for $5. Proceeds provide scholarship money for Delaware County students attending Ohio State.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for socializing, and the dinner and program begin at 6:30.
