The April 25 Sunbury Planning and Zoning Commission meeting was scheduled to begin with three public hearings. With principals in chambers ready to begin the hearings, Sunbury’s village solicitor, David Brehm, announced that because of a lack of a quorum, the meeting could not be held.
One commissioner was out of town, and another was ill.
To allow time for a public announcement, the meeting and public hearings were rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, May 16.
Public hearings will be held for The Hub Carryout, the former Sunbury Golf Course property on Golf Course Road, and Big Walnut Local School District.
The Hub Carryout, represented by Shaun Bogenrife of Bogenrife Architecture, is requesting a property setback variance and a variance on parking count. The Hub Carryout variance request is an extension of a variance approved last September.
GCR Development LLC seeks a zoning change for 67.58 acres from planned recreational district to planned residential district for the former golf course on Golf Course Road between South Galena Road and Cheshire Road.
The developer is proposing a residential housing development for 150 single-family units at 1.93 units per acre, with 83 lots at 80 feet wide and 67 lots at 70 feet wide.
The school district is seeking a variance on parking space size from 10 feet by 20 feet to 9 by 18 feet at the school district’s new administration office at 110 Tippitt Court.
The district had received several variances for the property’s renovation during an earlier meeting, but had failed to place the parking space size reduction on that variance request’s application.
The commission will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 23, in Sunbury Town Hall’s third-floor council chambers.
