BST&G Fire District Chief Jeff Wilson announced that the fire district would conduct hydrant flushing throughout the district, starting next Monday, June 29. It will continue for about two weeks.
“As a result of the lines being flushed, residents in the immediate vicinity of the work may experience temporary water discoloration,” Wilson said. “This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air that does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration in your water after our crews have been flushing in your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by running all the water faucets for a few minutes.”
Wilson said BST&G will not flush hydrants on weekends or after 4 p.m. each day. Fire district residents can follow the BST&G Fire District on Facebook for hydrant flushing updates.
