Big Walnut area folks typically browse Sunbury’s flea market and other activities on the square following the Independence Day parade, but it’s a long afternoon until activities get underway leading up to fireworks at the high school.
Flea market aficionados now have another browsing option, thanks to members of the Galena Historical Foundation. From 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, members of the historic foundation are holding their inaugural flea market at Miller Park, located at 268 N. Walnut St. in Galena.
Admission and parking are free. Food, snacks and soft drinks will be available.
Vendor space is still available. A 20-foot by 20-foot space is $20 in advance, or $35 on the day of the flea market.
In addition, several residents will conduct the Galena community yard sale. To find it, shoppers should look for flea market signs while driving through the village.
