Harrison Street Elementary student Ella Gianettino was recognized as a November Student of the Month during last Thursday evening’s Big Walnut Local School District Board of Education meeting.
Harrison Street teachers and staff said they nominated Ella for many reasons, but above all due to her positive nature in the classroom. She is described as a role model who is a great artist and is very helpful and polite. Ella’s classmates say she is always kind and willing to lend a hand, and she is a great teammate.
This is Ella’s first year at Harrison Street as her family recently moved to a farm where they have 20 animals — 12 chickens, four horses, four cats, three ducks, six guinea fowls, and a dog.
Ella said she enjoys everything about her new farm — spending time with her family, walking down to the pond, spending time taking care of the animals, playing in the yard, having her friends over, and riding her bike.
Ella said she enjoys being at school so she can be with her friends. She likes all subjects and enjoys working in groups.
At this point in time, Ella said she is not sure what she wants to do when she grows up but she knows she wants to go to college with her best friend of seven years, Evie.
Ella said she would like to thank her parents for “… raising her great” and is honored to accept the award as Harrison Street’s student of the month. She promises to continue being a strong leader at HSE and as her educational path continues at Big Walnut.
Ella Gianettino is the daughter of Alan and Christy Gianettino; she has two siblings, 18-year-old Kensey and eight-year-old Mia.
