Local businesses, Journey Fellowship, and the Village of Galena will host an Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Sunday, December 4.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. at Journey Fellowship, 70 N. Walnut St. Drop off a dozen cookies to share and enjoy a wide variety of cookies with hot chocolate.
Members of the Galena Historic Foundation will give away coffee cups filled with goodies, and children can tell Santa what’s on their lists and enjoy crafts and games.
Children can also dress up and participate in the Instant Nativity Scene, so be sure to bring your cameras.
All events take place in the Journey Fellowship auditorium. At 7 p.m. on Galena Square you can enjoy traditional stories, carols, and the lighting of the Galena Christmas Tree.
The Village will distribute its annual holiday ornaments while supplies last. After the tree lighting, open houses will continue at the Galena Diner, HER Realtors Murphy & Associates, Mudflats Bar & Grill, and Journey Fellowship.
Drop off a new toy at Murphy’s, 19 W. Columbus St., to donate to the local USO.
