Each year Big Walnut Middle School art students enter the Lions Clubs International World Wide Peace Poster Contest. The contest consists of posters drawn by students to show their ideas of how world peace can be achieved.

The Big Walnut students join more than 400,000 entries submitted worldwide in the annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest, with this year’s theme: A Celebration of Peace. Lions Clubs International sponsors the program to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere.

Each year one local winner’s poster advances to district competition, and this year’s local winner Janel Hayes and two runners-up, Jaiden Hilton and Kendall McClintock, joined Big Walnut Middle School Art Teacher Nancy Crawford at a Peace Poster Award Ceremony at the Monday, November 14, Sunbury Lions Club meeting.
