Preservation Parks of Delaware County is seeking public input on paving the Sandel Legacy Trail, located in Sunbury.
The trail, formerly known as the Big Walnut Community Trail, is a section of the Ohio to Erie multi-use trail. It consists of a 0.7-mile stretch that spans Columbus Street (Old 3C Highway) and a 0.3-mile segment between East Cherry and Walnut streets.
Paving will improve access for persons with disabilities, families with strollers, and cyclists who visit the park.
An information session about the paving project will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 5:30-7 p.m., at Sunbury Village Hall, 51 E. Cherry St. The park district is applying for a grant to secure funding for the project.
Those with questions may contact Matt Simpson, Preservation Parks senior park planner, at 740-524-8600, ext. 2. Comments may be emailed to email@example.com; the deadline to submit comments is Jan. 25.
