On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, The Genoa Township Police Department will be hosting its 11th Citizen’s Police Academy.
We will convene every Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. until we graduate in May. The 10-week program gives participants insight into the profession of law enforcement and the operations of The Genoa Township Police Department.
Topics during the academy sessions will focus on typical policing activities and include areas such as;use of force and less lethal weapons such as the Taser, traffic stops, SWAT operations, a jail tour, and a firearms live-shooting experience.
We believe our program is informative, exciting, and a great experience for both the public and the officers involved.
Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and pass a background check to be considered for the academy. Please apply online at
