Tyler Day and Brittany Cayton have been selected to serve as the 2015 Hartford Fair king and queen.
The Hartford Independent Fair opened on Sunday and runs through this coming Saturday.
Traditionally, the night before the fair opens, members of the Hartford Junior Fair Board host the Hartford Fair king and queen contest at the fairground’s pavilion.
Four queen candidates and four king candidates sought the coveted honor of representing the Junior Fair Board, not only during the Hartford Fair, but also at a host of other events and parades throughout the coming year.
With a standing-room-only crowd on hand for the event, Day and Cayton were crowned.
In addition to Day and Cayton, members of the 2015 Hartford Fair court are Caitlyn Blecha, Mikayla Park, Ashley Parker, Ben Abel, Tyler Freese and Austin Stafford.
This year’s king and queen Contest judges were Abby Pound, Carrie Flegle and 2015 Ohio fairs queen Sarah Everhart.
During the event, 2015 Licking County 4-H commodities and species royalty were introduced, and 2015 Delaware County Fair queen Madeleine Wecker, a member of Kountry Kids 4-H Club who is showing at the Hartford Fair, also stopped at the ceremony to meet the new Hartford Fair king and queen and their court.
