FFA Alumni members will hold their Ninth Annual Big Walnut FFA Alumni Scrap Drive at the high school on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23. Containers will be set up for collection at the south end of Big Walnut High School near the Ag Science entry.
Any scrap metal or iron, large items or small, even appliances, will be accepted, including beverage cans, scrap aluminum, copper, insulated copper wire, brass, scrap steel, and sheet iron. Items not accepted are microwaves, dehumidifiers, TV’s, and propane tanks.
On April 22, scrap may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.; April 23 drop-off times are noon until 5 p.m.; and Big Walnut/DACC FFA members will be on site to help unload scrap.
All money raised during the Big Walnut FFA Alumni Scrap Drive will go towards Big Walnut/DACC FFA scholarships and member activities.
If you have any questions about scrap metals you would like to donate email FFA Alumni president Brenda Piper at < email@example.com >, or call Piper at 740-815-5092.
Members of FFA Alumni Chapters, like the Big Walnut/DACC FFA Alumni, hold fundraisers for FFA scholarships and member activities, and serve as mentors for local FFA chapter members.
If you are a former FFA member and would like to help the DACC Big Walnut FFA Alumni to continue serving local students with an interest in agriculture and ag-related disciplines, becoming a member of your local FFA Alumni has a modest membership fee; and there is a host of large and small volunteer tasks that keep alumni in touch with today’s FFA members, helping them reach their goals.
Big Walnut FFA Alumni President Brenda Piper said even area residents who are not former FFA members but with skills and expertise to share with today’s agriculture students are also able to join their local FFA Alumni chapter.
If you are interested in becoming a member of your local Big Walnut FFA Alumni, email FFA Alumni president Brenda Piper at < firstname.lastname@example.org >, or call Piper at 740-815-5092.
