Preservation Parks of Delaware County’s “nature hunt” in the Lodge at Deer Haven Preserve resumes this month, with a search for monarch butterflies.
Small “monarchs” will be camouflaged and hidden among the nature display. If participants find them all, they will win a prize. The lodge nature center 4183 Liberty Road is open from noon to 5 p.m. daily.
Registration is not required for these free Preservation Parks programs:
• “Monarch Magic Weekend,” Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13, from noon to 5 p.m. Participants will celebrate the world of the monarch butterfly, play games, watch a movie, make crafts and enjoy refreshments. Participants will tag and release live monarchs, if they are available, at 2 p.m. each day. An optional fundraiser will be available to help save monarchs. All ages. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road.
• “Story Time in the Park,” Monday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m. Nature-themed stories, songs and sensory fun for little ones. Ages 0-3. Deer Haven Preserve.
