The OSU Alumni Club of Delaware County is hosting a game watch and tailgate at the historic Strand Theatre, 28 E. Winter St. in Delaware, for the Sept. 7 season opener between the 2014 national champion OSU Buckeyes and Virginia Tech.
Founded in 2011, The OSU Alumni Club of Delaware County is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is fundraising to support Delaware County students attending The Ohio State University with scholarships.
The tailgate party begins at 6 p.m., game kick-off is 8 p.m.; and the best part is, you and your friends and family do not have to be members of the OSU Alumni Club of Delaware County to enjoy the tailgate party and game: The club is inviting members of the public to join in the fun.
Admission is free and there will be tailgate food available for purchase, including hot dogs, popcorn, soda and beer.
Attendees can enter a grand prize drawing for two tickets to an OSU home game. There will be a 50/50 drawing with the 50 percent of the proceeds going to the Strand Theatre to support the purchase of new seats.
The winners of both drawings will be announced at halftime, and Brutus Buckeye will make an appearance — a surrogate, of course, as the real Brutus will be at the game.
